एतत् ते सर्वम् आख्यातम् यथा त्रि पथ गामिनी ।
खम् गता प्रथमम् तात गतिम् गतिमताम् वर ॥१-३५-२३॥

kham gatā prathamam tāta gatim gatimatām vara ॥1-35-23॥
Translation
O Dear One! O Best among those with wisdom and motion! I have narrated to you all this—how the Tripathaga (Ganga) first ascended to the skies.

हे तात! हे गतिमान पुरुषों में श्रेष्ठ (राम)! यह सब मैंने तुम्हें विस्तार से बताया कि किस प्रकार वह त्रिपथगामिनी (गंगा) पहले आकाश में गईं।
English Commentary
In this concluding verse of the 35th Sarga, Sage Vishwamitra addresses Rama with deep affection as "Tata" (Dear one). He creates a summary of the narrative so far, confirming that he has explained the initial phase of the river Ganga's journey—specifically her ascent to the celestial spheres (Kham). The epithet "Gatimatam vara" (Best among those with movement or wisdom) is significant; it praises Rama’s intellectual agility and spiritual dynamism. By referring to Ganga as "Tripathaga" (She who flows in three paths), Vishwamitra subtly foreshadows the river’s destiny to purify the three worlds, setting the stage for Rama's subsequent questions in the next Canto regarding the specifics of these paths.
