एवम् उक्त्वा महर्षयो विश्वमित्रेण धीमता ।
पश्यन्तः ते प्रयाता वै वनानि विविधानि च ॥ ॥१-३५-६॥
Evam uktvā maharṣayo viśvamitreṇa dhīmatā । Paśyantaḥ te prayātā vai vanāni vividhāni ca ॥ ॥1-35-6॥
Translation
Having spoken thus, guided by the wise Vishvamitra, they proceeded, gazing at the various diverse forests.

ऐसा कहकर, बुद्धिमान विश्वामित्र के साथ वे (राम और लक्ष्मण) अनेक प्रकार के वनों को देखते हुए आगे बढ़े।
English Commentary
The journey continues under the stewardship of the dhīmatā (wise/intelligent) Vishvamitra. The verse notes that they proceeded while observing (paśyantaḥ) various types of forests. This observation is crucial; it shows Rama and Lakshmana’s engagement with the natural world. They are not passive travelers but keen observers of the biodiversity (vanāni vividhāni) around them. This segment serves as a prelude to Rama's deep connection with nature, which becomes a central theme in later Kandas (books) of the Ramayana.
