यद् इदम् क्षुभितम् स्थानात् मम तेजो हि अनुत्तमम् ।
धारयिष्यति कः तत् मे ब्रुवन्तु सुर सत्तमाः ॥१-३६-१४॥
yad idam kṣubhitam sthānāt mama tejo hi anuttamam |
dhārayiṣyati kaḥ tat me bruvantu sura sattamāḥ ॥1-36-14॥
Translation
"However, who will hold that unsurpassed energy of Mine which has already stirred from its place? Tell me that, O Best of Celestials!"
हिंदी अनुवाद
"परन्तु, मेरा जो यह अनुत्तम (सर्वश्रेष्ठ) तेज अपने स्थान से चलित (क्षुभित) हो चुका है, उसे कौन धारण करेगा? हे श्रेष्ठ देवताओं! मुझे बताओ।"
English Commentary
Shiva poses a critical metaphysical question. While he can cease further action, a portion of the energy is already "Kshubhitam" (agitated/stirred/dislodged) from its source. Once divine potency is set in motion, it cannot simply be negated; it must find a receptacle. He describes this energy as "Anuttamam" (unsurpassed/excellent). He turns the responsibility back to the gods ("Sura sattamah"), asking them to identify a vessel capable of containing this residue of the absolute power, essentially asking: "You stopped the process, now who cleans up the spill?"

शिव जी यहाँ एक व्यावहारिक और तकनीकी समस्या रखते हैं। यद्यपि वे भविष्य के तेज को रोक लेंगे, परन्तु जो तेज 'स्थानात् क्षुभितम्' (अपने स्थान से विचलित/स्खलित होने की प्रक्रिया में) हो चुका है, उसे वापस नहीं लिया जा सकता। यह ऊर्जा संरक्षण के सिद्धांत जैसा है—ऊर्जा नष्ट नहीं की जा सकती, उसे कहीं न कहीं जाना होगा। वे इसे 'अनुत्तमम्' (जिससे उत्तम कुछ नहीं है) कहते हैं। वे देवताओं को चुनौती देते हैं कि अब वे ही बताएं ('ब्रुवन्तु') कि इस मुक्त हुई प्रलयंकारी ऊर्जा को कौन संभालेगा।
