न च अपि तनयो राम तस्याम् आसीत् परंतप ।
सर्वे देवाः समुद्युक्ताः पितामह पुरोगमाः ॥१-३६-७॥
na ca api tanayo rāma tasyām āsīt paraṃtapa |
sarve devāḥ samudyuktāḥ pitāmaha purogamāḥ ॥1-36-7॥
Translation
Yet, O Rama, destroyer of foes, no son was born of her (in that time). All the gods, with Grandfather Brahma at their head, became agitated and active.
हिंदी अनुवाद
हे परंतप राम! फिर भी उस (इतने लम्बे समय) में उनसे कोई पुत्र उत्पन्न नहीं हुआ। (इस स्थिति से चिंतित होकर) पितामह (ब्रह्मा) को आगे करके सभी देवता सक्रिय/उद्यत हो गए।
English Commentary
Despite the prolonged union, no offspring was produced. Vishwamitra addresses Rama as "Parantapa" (Scorcher of foes). The narrative shifts to the reaction of the celestial community. The accumulated energy of Shiva was so intense that the gods, led by "Pitamaha" (Grandfather Brahma), became "Samudyuktah" (active/agitated/ready for action). They realized that the birth was imminent or that the energy was becoming unmanageable. This marks the turning point where the private union of Shiva and Parvati becomes a matter of cosmic security, prompting divine intervention.

विश्वामित्र राम को 'परंतप' (शत्रुओं को संताप देने वाले) कहकर संबोधित करते हैं। श्लोक का मुख्य भाव यह है कि सौ दिव्य वर्षों के संयोग के बाद भी कोई संतान उत्पन्न नहीं हुई। यह विलंब और शिव के तेज की निरंतर वृद्धि देवताओं के लिए चिंता का विषय बन गई। 'समुद्युक्ताः' शब्द दर्शाता है कि देवता केवल चिंतित नहीं थे, बल्कि वे कार्यवाही करने के लिए तैयार हो गए। वे ब्रह्मा जी (पितामह) के नेतृत्व में एक प्रतिनिधिमंडल के रूप में स्थिति को संभालने के लिए आगे बढ़े। यह देवताओं के भय को इंगित करता है कि शिव का पुत्र अत्यधिक शक्तिशाली होगा।
