देवतानाम् वचः श्रुत्वा सर्व लोक पितामहः ।
सान्त्वयन् मधुरैः वाक्यैः त्रिदशान् इदम् अब्रवीत् ॥ ॥१-३७-५॥
devatānām vacaḥ śrutvā sarva loka pitāmahaḥ । sāntvayan madhuraiḥ vākyaiḥ tridaśān idam abravīt ॥ ॥1-37-5॥
Translation
Hearing the words of the Devas, the Grandfather of all worlds (Brahma), comforting them, spoke these words to the Devas in a sweet voice.

देवताओं के वचन सुनकर, सर्वलोक पितामह ब्रह्माजी ने उन्हें सांत्वना देते हुए मधुर वचनों में देवताओं से यह कहा।
English Commentary
Brahma's role here is that of a patient guardian. Hearing the distress of the Devas, he does not get angry or agitated; instead, he replies while 'comforting' (santvayan) them. The phrase 'madhuraih vakyaih' (with sweet words) indicates that Brahma had a solution to the problem and wished to alleviate the Devas' fears. In times of crisis, it is essential for leadership to remain calm and gentle. This behavior of Brahma instills hope in the Devas that a solution to liberation from Tarakasura's terror will certainly be found.

ब्रह्माजी की भूमिका यहाँ एक धैर्यवान अभिभावक की है। देवताओं की व्याकुलता सुनकर वे क्रोधित या विचलित नहीं होते, बल्कि उन्हें 'सान्त्वयन्' (सांत्वना देते हुए) उत्तर देते हैं। 'मधुरैः वाक्यैः' (मीठे वचनों से) यह दर्शाता है कि ब्रह्माजी के पास समस्या का समाधान था और वे देवताओं के भय को दूर करना चाहते थे। संकट के समय नेतृत्व का शांत और सौम्य बना रहना अत्यंत आवश्यक होता है। ब्रह्माजी का यह व्यवहार देवताओं में पुनः आशा का संचार करता है कि तारकासुर के आतंक से मुक्ति का उपाय अवश्य निकलेगा।
