प्रदक्षिणम् ऋषिम् कृत्वा शिरसा अभिप्रणम्य च ।
जगाम स्व पुरम् राजा सभार्या रघु नन्दन ॥ ॥१-३८-१५॥
pradakṣiṇam ṛṣim kṛtvā śirasā abhipraṇamya ca । jagāma sva puram rājā sabhāryā raghu nandana ॥ ॥1-38-15॥
Translation
O Raghunandana! Having circumambulated the sage and bowed down with his head, the King, accompanied by his wives, went back to his own city.
हिंदी अनुवाद
हे रघुनंदन! ऋषि की परिक्रमा करके और सिर झुकाकर प्रणाम करके, राजा (सगर) अपनी पत्नियों के साथ अपने नगर (अयोध्या) को लौट गए।
English Commentary
This verse concludes the episode of penance. The acts of circumambulation ('pradakshinam') and bowing with the head ('shirasa abhipranamya') are traditional markers of respect and gratitude upon receiving a blessing. King Sagara returns to Ayodhya with his wives ('sabharya'), signifying the restoration of domestic and royal order after the disruption caused by his ascetic withdrawal. The narrative shifts from the spiritual atmosphere of Bhrigu’s ashram back to the worldly setting of the capital, setting the stage for the biological fulfillment of the spiritual boons.

वरदान प्राप्ति के बाद की शिष्टाचार विधि यहाँ वर्णित है। 'प्रदक्षिणम्' (परिक्रमा) और 'शिरसा अभिप्रणम्य' (सिर से प्रणाम) गुरु और ऋषि के प्रति पूर्ण समर्पण और कृतज्ञता दर्शाते हैं। कार्य सिद्ध होने के बाद राजा 'सभार्या' (पत्नियों सहित) अयोध्या लौटते हैं। यह श्लोक वनवास/तपस्या के अध्याय को समाप्त करता है और कथा को वापस राजमहल के वातावरण में ले जाता है। 'रघुनंदन' संबोधन पुनः राम का ध्यान आकर्षित करने के लिए है। अब प्रतीक्षा का समय (गर्भावस्था) शुरू होता है।
