दीक्षितः पौत्र सहितः स उपाध्याय गणः तु अहम्।
इह स्थास्यामि भद्रम् वो यावत् तुरग दर्शनम्॥ ॥१-३९-१५॥
Dīkṣitaḥ pautra sahitaḥ sa upādhyāya gaṇaḥ tu aham। Iha sthāsyāmi bhadram vo yāvat turaga darśanam॥ ॥1-39-15॥
Translation
"As I am consecrated (Dikshita) for the sacrifice, I shall remain here with my grandson and the assembly of priests until the horse is found. May you be blessed."

"मैं तो दीक्षित (यज्ञ का व्रत लिए हुए) हूँ, अतः अपने पौत्र (अंशुमान) और उपाध्याय गणों के साथ यहीं रहूँगा, जब तक कि घोड़े के दर्शन न हो जाएं। तुम्हारा कल्याण हो।"
English Commentary
Sagara explains his inability to join the search based on protocol. Being Dikshita (initiated/consecrated for the rite), he is bound to the sacrificial precinct. He retains his grandson Anshuman, ensuring the lineage remains secure at the base while the sons venture out. This separation creates the dramatic setup: the King waits in religious confinement while his sons unleash havoc on the earth. The repetition of "May you be blessed" serves as a poignant farewell, emphasizing the King's hope versus the impending doom.

राजा सगर अपनी मर्यादा स्पष्ट करते हैं। 'दीक्षित' होने के कारण यजमान यज्ञ-मंडप छोड़कर दूर नहीं जा सकता। उसे एक विशेष अनुशासन और स्थान में रहना होता है। इसलिए वे स्वयं खोज पर नहीं जा सकते। वे अपने पौत्र अंशुमान को भी अपने पास रखते हैं, शायद उत्तराधिकार की सुरक्षा के लिए या यज्ञ में सहायता के लिए। यह श्लोक कार्य-विभाजन को दर्शाता है: युवा और बलशाली पुत्र बाहर जाकर श्रमसाध्य कार्य करेंगे, जबकि वृद्ध राजा और पौत्र यज्ञस्थल की पवित्रता बनाए रखेंगे।
