ते तु सर्वे महत्मानो भिमवेग महबलाः ।
ददृशुः कपिलम् तत्र वासुदेवम् सनातनम् ॥ ॥१-४०-२५॥
te tu sarve mahatmāno bhimavega mahabalāḥ । dadṛśuḥ kapilam tatra vāsudevam sanātanam ॥ ॥1-40-25॥
Translation
Those mighty ones, endowed with terrible speed, saw there the eternal Kapila, who is Vasudeva (Vishnu) himself.
हिंदी अनुवाद
उन महान वेग और महाबल वाले सभी (पुत्रों) ने वहां सनातन वासुदेव स्वरूप 'कपिल मुनि' को देखा।
English Commentary
This verse reveals the identity of the figure they encounter: Sage Kapila. The text explicitly identifies him as Vasudevam Sanatanam—the eternal Lord Vishnu. Kapila is traditionally revered as the founder of Samkhya philosophy and an avatar of Vishnu. The sons are described as bhimavega (of terrible speed), contrasting their frantic, kinetic energy with the timeless, static serenity of the Absolute (Kapila/Vasudeva). This encounter represents the meeting of mortal hubris with divine power.

यह श्लोक कपिल मुनि की दिव्यता को स्थापित करता है। उन्हें साक्षात् 'वासुदेवम् सनातनम्' (अनादि विष्णु) कहा गया है। सांख्य दर्शन के प्रणेता कपिल को विष्णु का अवतार माना जाता है। सागर के पुत्रों को 'भीमवेग' (भयानक गति वाले) कहा गया है, जो उनकी उग्रता को दर्शाता है। यहाँ एक विरोधाभास है: एक ओर शांत, सनातन परमात्मा (कपिल) समाधिस्थ हैं, और दूसरी ओर उग्र, चंचल राजकुमार (सागर पुत्र) वहां पहुँचते हैं। यह शांति और उग्रता का मिलन विध्वंसकारी सिद्ध होगा।
