अभ्यधावन्त संक्रुद्धाः तिष्ठ तिष्ठ इति च अब्रुवन् ।
अस्माकम् त्वम् हि तुरगम् यज्ञियम् हृतवान् असि ॥ ॥१-४०-२८॥
abhyadhāvanta saṃkruddhāḥ tiṣṭha tiṣṭha iti ca abruvan । asmākam tvam hi turagam yajñiyam hṛtavān asi ॥ ॥1-40-28॥
Translation
Furious, they ran towards him shouting, "Stand! Stand! You are indeed the one who has stolen our sacrificial horse."
हिंदी अनुवाद
वे अत्यंत क्रुद्ध होकर उनकी ओर दौड़े और बोले—"खड़े रहो! खड़े रहो! (रुको!) तुमने ही हमारे यज्ञीय घोड़े का अपहरण किया है।"
English Commentary
The sons verbally assault the sage before physically reaching him. Shouting "Tistha! Tistha!" (Stand! Stop!), they address him as a common criminal trying to flee, which is ironic since the sage is sitting in deep meditation. They explicitly accuse him: "You have stolen our sacrificial horse." This direct accusation (hritavan asi) without inquiry demonstrates their arrogance and total lack of respect for spiritual authority, precipitating the sage's awakening.

सगर के पुत्रों ने कपिल मुनि को ललकारा। 'तिष्ठ तिष्ठ' (रुको/खड़े रहो) का प्रयोग किसी भागते हुए चोर के लिए किया जाता है, न कि एक स्थिर बैठे हुए योगी के लिए। यह उनके अहंकार को दर्शाता है। उन्होंने सीधा आरोप लगाया—"त्वम् हि" (तुमने ही) हमारे यज्ञ के घोड़े को चुराया है। यह वाणी का अपराध था। उन्होंने सत्य जानने का प्रयास नहीं किया, बल्कि अपनी धारणा को ही सत्य मानकर ऋषि को अपराधी घोषित कर दिया।
