पितामह वचः श्रुत्वा त्रयः त्रिंशत् अरिन्दमः ।
देवाः परम संहृष्टाः पुनर् जग्मुर् यथा आगतम् ॥ ॥१-४०-५॥
pitāmaha vacaḥ śrutvā trayaḥ triṃśat arindamaḥ । devāḥ parama saṃhṛṣṭāḥ punar jagmur yathā āgam ॥ ॥1-40-5॥
Translation
Hearing the words of the Grandfather, the thirty-three [classes of] gods, O Tamer of Enemies, became exceedingly rejoiced and returned as they had come.
हिंदी अनुवाद
हे अरिन्दम (शत्रुदमन राम)! पितामह ब्रह्मा के वचन सुनकर तैंतीस कोटि (प्रकार के) देवता अत्यंत प्रसन्न हुए और जैसे आए थे, वैसे ही वापस चले गए।
English Commentary
Relief washes over the celestial hierarchy. The term trayaḥ triṃśat refers to the Vedic classification of 33 principal deities. Addressed as Arindama (Subduer of enemies), Rama is told that the Devas left parama saṃhṛṣṭāḥ (supremely happy). This marks the end of the celestial interlude. The tension in the heavens is resolved, shifting the narrative focus back to the earth where the tragedy is still unfolding. The Devas' departure signifies that no direct intervention from them is needed; the natural laws and Kapila's presence are sufficient to handle the arrogant princes.

ब्रह्मा के आश्वासन के बाद देवताओं की प्रतिक्रिया का वर्णन है। 'त्रयः त्रिंशत्' का अर्थ है तैंतीस। वेदों में 33 मुख्य देवताओं का उल्लेख है (12 आदित्य, 11 रुद्र, 8 वसु और 2 अश्विनी कुमार)। 'अरिन्दम' संबोधन राम के लिए है, जिसका अर्थ है शत्रुओं का दमन करने वाला। देवताओं की प्रसन्नता ('परम संहृष्टाः') यह दर्शाती है कि उन्हें ब्रह्मा की भविष्यवाणी पर पूर्ण विश्वास था। उन्हें समझ आ गया कि सगर के पुत्रों का अंत निकट है, इसलिए पृथ्वी पर आया संकट जल्द ही टल जाएगा। वे निश्चिंत होकर अपने लोकों को लौट गए, यह जानते हुए कि न्याय होगा।
