देव दानव रक्षोभिः पिशाच पतग उरगैः ।
पूज्यमानम् महातेजा दिशा गजम् अपश्यत ॥ ॥१-४१-७॥
deva dānava rakṣobhiḥ piśāca pataga uragaiḥ । pūjyamānam mahātejā diśā gajam apaśyata ॥ ॥1-41-7॥
Translation
The highly radiant Anshuman saw a directional elephant there, who was being worshipped by Devas, Danavas, Rakshasas, Pisachas, birds, and Uragas (serpents).

उस महातेजस्वी (अंशुमान) ने वहां एक दिग्गज को देखा, जिसकी पूजा देवता, दानव, राक्षस, पिशाच, पक्षी और नाग सभी कर रहे थे।
English Commentary
Anshuman encounters the first Diggaja. The text emphasizes the universal reverence commanded by this being; he is worshipped (pujyamanam) by a diverse array of entities ranging from celestial Devas to malevolent Rakshasas and Pisachas. This highlights the neutral, foundational role the Diggajas play in sustaining the world—they are revered by all factions of creation. Anshuman, described as mahateja (greatly radiant), witnesses this cosmic assembly, validating his entry into the supernatural realm.

रसातल में पहुँचकर अंशुमान को दिग्गज के दर्शन हुए। यह वही दिग्गज हो सकता है जिसे उसके चाचाओं ने देखा था। यहाँ दृश्य थोड़ा और भव्य है—दिग्गज की पूजा न केवल देवता कर रहे हैं, बल्कि दानव, राक्षस और पिशाच भी कर रहे हैं। यह दर्शाता है कि दिग्गज (दिशाओं के रक्षक) सर्वमान्य हैं और ब्रह्मांडीय व्यवस्था (Cosmic Order) में सभी योनियों के लिए पूजनीय हैं। अंशुमान का 'महातेजा' होना उसे इस दिव्य दृश्य को देखने और सहन करने के योग्य बनाता है।
