Srimad Valmiki Ramayana
तम् एवम् उक्त्वा राजानम् गंगाम् च आभाष्य लोककृत् ।
जगाम त्रिदिवम् देवैः सर्वैः सह मरुत् गणैः ॥ ॥१-४२-२५॥
tam evam uktvā rājānam gangām ca ābhāṣya lokakṛt । jagāma tridivam devaiḥ sarvaiḥ saha marut gaṇaiḥ ॥ ॥1-42-25॥
Translation
Having thus spoken to the King and having addressed Ganga, the Creator of the worlds went to heaven (Tridiva) accompanied by the Maruts and all the gods.
हिंदी अनुवाद
राजा से ऐसा कहकर और गंगा जी से भी (संकेत में) बात करके, लोकों की रचना करने वाले (ब्रह्मा) मरुद्गणों और सभी देवताओं के साथ स्वर्ग लोक (त्रिदिव) को चले गए।
English Commentary
This verse concludes the interaction with Brahma. After instructing Bhagiratha and also addressing Ganga (likely commanding her to descend when the time is right or explaining her role), the Creator (Lokakrit) departs for the celestial realm (Tridiva). He is accompanied by the Maruts and other deities who had gathered to witness this pivotal moment. The departure of the gods leaves Bhagiratha alone once more, shifting the narrative focus entirely to his next requisite penance directed toward Lord Shiva. The stage is now set for the famous Shiva-Dharana (holding by Shiva) of the Ganga.

इस सर्ग (अध्याय) के उपसंहार में, ब्रह्मा जी अपना कार्य पूर्ण कर प्रस्थान करते हैं। 'गंगाम् च आभाष्य' एक महत्वपूर्ण वाक्यांश है—इसका अर्थ है कि ब्रह्मा ने गंगा को भी तैयार रहने का निर्देश दिया या उन्हें आश्वस्त किया कि शिव उन्हें धारण करेंगे। इसके बाद 'लोककृत्' (लोक रचयिता) ब्रह्मा अपने विमान या दिव्य रूप में मरुतों (वायु देवताओं) और अन्य देवों के साथ वापस 'त्रिदिव' (स्वर्ग) चले गए। अब रंगमंच पर केवल भगीरथ शेष हैं, और उनके सामने नया लक्ष्य है: भगवान शिव को प्रसन्न करना। यह कथा के अगले चरण की भूमिका तैयार करता है।
