तस्य सा शर्वरी सर्वा मम सौमित्रिणा सह ।
जगाम चिंतयान् अस्य विश्वामित्र कथाम् शुभाम् ॥१-४५-४॥
tasya sā śarvarī sarvā mama saumitriṇā saha |
jagāma cintayān asya viśvāmitra kathām śubhām ॥1-45-4॥
Translation
Thinking of that auspicious story of Vishvamitra, that entire night passed for me, along with the son of Sumitra.

उस विश्वामित्र की शुभ कथा का चिंतन करते हुए, सुमित्रा नंदन (लक्ष्मण) के साथ मेरी वह पूरी रात बीत गई।
English Commentary
(Note: The presence of 'mama' suggests Rama is continuing his address). Rama reiterates that the night (sharvari) passed while he was engrossed in the auspicious story narrated by Vishvamitra. He mentions being with 'Saumitri' (Lakshmana), emphasizing their inseparable bond. The focus is on 'Chintayan' (reflecting/thinking). The story is described as Shubham (auspicious), implying that the mere thought of it brings positivity. This verse cements the impact of the narrative; it was so captivating that it suspended the normal biological need for sleep, replacing it with spiritual contemplation.
