एकताम् अगमन् सर्वे असुरा राक्षसैः सह ।
युद्धम् आसीत् महाघोरम् वीर त्रैलोक्य मोहनम् ॥ ॥१-४५-४१॥
ekatām agaman sarve asurā rākṣasaiḥ saha |
yuddham āsīt mahāghoram vīra trailokya mohanam ॥1-45-41॥
Translation
All the Asuras united with the Rakshasas. O Hero! Then a terribly gruesome battle took place, which stupefied the three worlds.
हिंदी अनुवाद
सभी असुरों ने राक्षसों के साथ गठबंधन (एकता) कर लिया। हे वीर! तब त्रिलोक को मोहित (भयभीत/स्तम्भित) करने वाला महाघोर युद्ध हुआ।
English Commentary
Faced with the might of the Devas, the Asuras forged a strategic military alliance with the Rakshasas. This distinction between Asuras (Titans/anti-gods) and Rakshasas (demons/cannibals) is significant in Hindu cosmology. The resulting war was so intense that it caused mohanam (delusion/stupefaction) across the three worlds. The scale of conflict escalated from a localized skirmish to a cosmic crisis.

जब देव-असुर युद्ध छिड़ा, तो असुरों ने राक्षसों (एक भिन्न प्रजाति) के साथ गठबंधन किया। यह 'शत्रु का शत्रु मित्र' की नीति है। युद्ध को 'त्रैलोक्य मोहनम्' कहा गया है, जिसका अर्थ है कि इसकी भयानकता ने तीनों लोकों की सुध-बुध हर ली थी। यहाँ 'राक्षस' और 'असुर' का भेद स्पष्ट है—वे अलग-अलग थे, परंतु देवताओं के विरुद्ध एक हो गए।
