पूर्णे वर्ष सहस्रे तु शुचिः यदि भविष्यसि ।
पुत्रम् त्रैलोक्य हन्तारम् मत्तः त्वम् जनयिष्यसि ॥ ॥१-४६-६॥
Pūrṇe varṣa sahasre tu śuciḥ yadi bhaviṣyasi । Putram trailokya hantāram mattaḥ tvam janayiṣyasi ॥ ॥1-46-6॥
Translation
"If you remain pure for a full thousand years, you shall generate a son from me who will be the slayer of the three worlds (or the one who conquers the three worlds)."

"यदि तुम पूरे एक हजार वर्षों तक पवित्र रह सकोगी, तो तुम मुझसे तीनों लोकों के हन्ता (तीनों लोकों को जीतने वाले/इन्द्र को मारने वाले) पुत्र को जन्म दोगी।"
English Commentary
Kashyapa sets a definitive timeline: one thousand years. The phrase Trailokya Hantaram implies one who can destroy the current order of the three worlds (Indra's dominion). By stating the son will be born Mattah (from me), he confirms the child will possess the formidable energy of a Prajapati. However, the operative word is Yadi (if). This long duration serves two purposes: it tests Diti's unwavering dedication and provides a window of opportunity for Indra to neutralize the threat, effectively putting destiny in the hands of time and discipline.

यहाँ समय सीमा निर्धारित की गई है—एक हजार वर्ष। यह दैवीय समय गणना के अनुसार एक लंबी अवधि है। 'त्रैलोक्य हन्तारम्' का अर्थ यहाँ तीनों लोकों के वर्तमान शासक (इन्द्र) को मारकर उस स्थान को प्राप्त करने वाले से है। कश्यप जी स्पष्ट करते हैं कि यह पुत्र 'मत्तः' (मुझसे/मेरे अंश से) उत्पन्न होगा, जिसका अर्थ है कि उसमें असाधारण शक्ति होगी। शर्त 'यदि' (if) पर टिकी है। यह कश्यप जी की दूरदर्शिता है कि उन्होंने इन्द्र को अपनी रक्षा की तैयारी के लिए या दिति के संकल्प को टूटने के लिए 1000 वर्ष का समय दे दिया।
