Srimad Valmiki Ramayana
एवम् उक्त्वा महा तेजाः पाणिना स ममार्ज ताम् ।
तम् आलभ्य ततः स्वस्ति इति उक्त्वा तपसे ययौ ॥ ॥१-४६-७॥
Evam uktvā mahā tejāḥ pāṇinā sa mamārja tām । Tam ālabhya tataḥ svasti iti uktvā tapase yayau ॥ ॥1-46-7॥
Translation
Having spoken thus, the highly radiant one wiped her (touched her) with his hand. After touching her and saying "Swasti" (May there be well-being), he departed for penance.
हिंदी अनुवाद
ऐसा कहकर महातेजस्वी कश्यप ने अपने हाथ से दिति का स्पर्श किया (शरीर पोंछा)। उन्हें स्पर्श करके और "स्वस्ति" (कल्याण हो) कहकर वे तपस्या के लिए चले गए।
English Commentary
This verse describes a mystical conception. The act of Mamarja (wiping/stroking) and Alabhya (touching) suggests that Kashyapa transferred his potency or the embryo into Diti through touch and spiritual intent (Shaktipat), rather than conventional means. By uttering "Swasti" (let there be welfare/peace), he seals the pact and immediately detaches himself, returning to his own penance. This highlights the ascetic nature of the Rishi—he fulfills his duty as a husband and creator but remains unattached to the outcome of the ensuing conflict.

इस श्लोक में गर्भाधान की एक अलौकिक विधि का संकेत है। 'ममार्ज' (स्पर्श किया/सहलाया) और 'आलभ्य' क्रिया यह दर्शाती है कि कश्यप जी ने अपने तपोबल और स्पर्श मात्र से दिति के भीतर उस तेज (गर्भ) को स्थापित कर दिया। यह मैथुनी सृष्टि से भिन्न, संकल्प और मंत्र शक्ति द्वारा किया गया गर्भाधान प्रतीत होता है। 'स्वस्ति' कहकर वे न केवल दिति को विदा करते हैं, बल्कि आने वाले संघर्ष के लिए एक तटस्थ आशीर्वाद भी देते हैं, और स्वयं संसार के प्रपंच से दूर तपस्या हेतु चले जाते हैं।
