Srimad Valmiki Ramayana
धन्यो अस्मि अनुगृहीतो अस्मि यस्य मे विषयम् मुने ।
संप्राप्तो दर्शनम् चैव न अस्ति धन्यतरो मम ॥१-४७-२२॥
dhanyo asmi anugṛhīto asmi yasya me viṣayam mune । saṃprāpto darśanam caiva na asti dhanyataro mama ॥1-47-22॥
Translation
"O Sage! I am blessed, I am favored, that you have arrived in my domain and I have obtained your vision (Darshan). There is no one more blessed than me."
हिंदी अनुवाद
"हे मुने! मैं धन्य हूँ, मैं अनुगृहीत (कृतार्थ) हूँ, जिसके देश (विषय) में आप पधारे हैं और मुझे आपके दर्शन प्राप्त हुए हैं। मुझसे अधिक धन्य (भाग्यशाली) और कोई नहीं है।"
English Commentary
Sumati expresses profound gratitude. He views the Sage's visit not as a diplomatic event but as a spiritual blessing (anugraha). In Vedic belief, the arrival of a Brahmarishi purifies the land and the king's reign. His statement "There is no one more blessed than me" reflects extreme humility and the high value placed on Satsang (company of the holy) in Indian culture.

यह श्लोक 'भक्ति' और 'कृतज्ञता' से भरा है। सुमति विश्वामित्र के आगमन को अपनी उपलब्धि नहीं, बल्कि उन पर हुई कृपा ('अनुगृहीतो अस्मि') मानते हैं। एक संत के चरण राज्य में पड़ना अकाल और विपत्तियों का नाशक माना जाता है। 'न अस्ति धन्यतरो मम' (मुझसे अधिक भाग्यशाली कोई नहीं) कथन राजा के अहंकार-शून्य स्वभाव को दर्शाता है।
