तत् माम् सुरवराः सर्वे स ऋषि संघाः स चारणाः ।
सुर कार्य करम् यूयम् सफलम् कर्तुम् अर्हथ ॥ ॥१-४९-४॥
tat mām suravarāḥ sarve sa ṛṣi saṃghāḥ sa cāraṇāḥ |
sura kārya karam yūyam saphalam kartum arhatha ॥1-49-4॥
Translation
"Therefore, O best of gods, along with the hosts of sages and Charanas! Since I have done the work of the gods, you should make me 'successful' (restored with testicles) again."

"अतः, हे श्रेष्ठ देवताओं, ऋषि संघों और चारणों! चूँकि मैंने देवताओं का कार्य किया है, इसलिए आप सभी को मिलकर मुझे पुनः 'सफल' (वृषण युक्त) करना चाहिए।"
English Commentary
Having justified his actions as service to the state, Indra demands reparation. He appeals to the collective assembly (Suravarah) to restore him. The word Saphalam is used cleverly here. While it generally means "successful," in this biological context, it literally translates to "with fruit" (i.e., with testicles), countering his current state of being Aphalah (fruitless/castrated). He frames his restoration not as a favor, but as an obligation the gods owe him for taking the "hit" on their behalf. It emphasizes the interdependence of the cosmic hierarchy; a disabled king cannot rule effectively.
