यज्ञ उपसदनम् ब्रह्मन् प्राप्तो असि मुनिभिः सह ।
द्वादश अहम् तु ब्रह्मर्षे दीक्षाम् आहुः मनीषिणः ॥ ॥१-५०-१५॥
Yajña upasadanam brahman prāpto asi munibhiḥ saha । Dvādaśa aham tu brahmarṣe dīkṣām āhuḥ manīṣiṇaḥ ॥ ॥1-50-15॥
Translation
"O Brahman! You have arrived at the sacrificial enclosure along with the sages. O Brahmarishi! The wise say that the consecration (Diksha) for this sacrifice remains for twelve days."
हिंदी अनुवाद
"हे ब्रह्मन्! आप मुनियों के साथ मेरे यज्ञ स्थल पर पधारे हैं। हे ब्रह्मर्षि! विद्वानों का कहना है कि (इस यज्ञ की) दीक्षा अभी बारह दिन शेष है।"
English Commentary
Janaka subtly extends an invitation for Vishwamitra to stay. By mentioning that the Diksha (consecration period) has twelve days remaining (Dvadasha aham), he implies that the culmination of the ritual is yet to come. It is a polite way of saying, "You have arrived at the perfect time, but the grand finale awaits, so please remain with us for this duration."

जनक विश्वामित्र को रुकने का निमंत्रण दे रहे हैं। 'द्वादश अहम्' (बारह दिन) का संदर्भ यहाँ यह है कि यज्ञ पूर्ण होने और देवताओं के आगमन में अभी 12 दिन शेष हैं। राजा परोक्ष रूप से कह रहे हैं कि "कृपया इन 12 दिनों तक आप यहाँ निवास करें।" यह अतिथि को रोकने का एक विनम्र तरीका है, यह बताते हुए कि मुख्य कार्यक्रम अभी बाकी है।
