Srimad Valmiki Ramayana
प्रतियुज्जगाम सहसा विनयेन समन्वितः ।
ऋत्विजो अपि महात्मानः तु अर्घ्यम् आदाय स त्वरम् ॥ ॥१-५०-७॥
Prati ujjagāma sahasā vinayena samanvitaḥ । Ṛtvijo api mahātmānaḥ tu arghyam ādāya sa tvaram ॥ ॥1-50-7॥
Translation
And he (Janaka) immediately went forth to welcome him with humility. The high-souled Ritviks (priests) also hurriedly took the Arghya offering and followed.

और (जनक) विनय के साथ तत्काल उनके स्वागत के लिए गए। महात्मा ऋत्विक लोग भी शीघ्रता से अर्घ्य लेकर (साथ चले)।
English Commentary
King Janaka’s reaction to Vishwamitra’s arrival is characterized by haste and humility (Vinayena samanvita). He does not stand on ceremony as a king but rushes (Sahasa) to receive the sage. The priests accompanying him with Arghya (water for respectful offering) underscores the high protocol. In the Vedic hierarchy, a Brahma-Rishi like Vishwamitra commands reverence even from supreme monarchs like Janaka.

राजा जनक का उत्साह देखते ही बनता है। 'सहसा' (अचानक/तेजी से) और 'स त्वरम्' (शीघ्रता से) शब्द बताते हैं कि विश्वामित्र के प्रति उनके मन में कितना आदर था। राजा होने के बावजूद, वे सिंहासन पर बैठकर प्रतीक्षा नहीं करते, बल्कि स्वागत के लिए दौड़ पड़ते हैं। ऋत्विकों का अर्घ्य लेकर साथ चलना वैदिक शिष्टाचार का पालन है। विश्वामित्र जैसे ब्रह्मर्षि का आगमन यज्ञ की सफलता की गारंटी माना जाता था।
