विश्वामित्राय धर्मेण ददौ धर्म पुरस्कृतम् ।
प्रतिगृह्य तु ताम् पूजाम् जनकस्य महात्मनः ॥ ॥१-५०-८॥
Viśvāmitrāya dharmeṇa dadau dharma puraskṛtam । Pratigṛhya tu tām pūjām janakasya mahātmanaḥ ॥ ॥1-50-8॥
Translation
Keeping Dharma in the forefront, Janaka offered the Arghya to Vishwamitra in accordance with righteous tradition. Vishwamitra accepted that worship offered by the high-souled Janaka.

(जनक ने) धर्म को आगे रखकर (पूरी श्रद्धा से) विश्वामित्र को धर्मानुसार अर्घ्य प्रदान किया। विश्वामित्र ने भी महात्मा जनक की उस पूजा को स्वीकार किया।
English Commentary
The repetition of the word Dharma emphasizes the propriety of the interaction. Janaka offers the welcome not just as a king to a guest, but as a devotee to a sage, strictly adhering to scriptural injunctions (Dharmena). Vishwamitra’s acceptance of the worship signals a mutual respect. It is a meeting of the highest temporal authority (Janaka) and the highest spiritual authority (Vishwamitra), conducted with perfect adherence to protocol.
