तत् श्रुत्वा वचनम् तस्य विश्वामित्रस्य धीमतः ।
शतानंदो महातेजा रामम् वचनम् अब्रवीत् ॥ ॥१-५१-१२॥
tat śrutvā vacanam tasya viśvāmitrasya dhīmataḥ |
śatānando mahātejā rāmam vacanam abravīt ॥1-51-12॥
Translation
Hearing those words of the wise Vishwamitra, the highly resplendent Satananda spoke these words to Sri Rama.
हिंदी अनुवाद
बुद्धिमान विश्वामित्र के उन वचनों को सुनकर, महातेजस्वी शतानंद ने श्रीराम से यह वचन कहा।
English Commentary
Upon hearing the confirmation of his mother's salvation, Satananda is filled with relief and gratitude. Described here as "Mahateja" (greatly resplendent), Satananda turns his attention to Sri Rama. Having received closure regarding his family's past tragedy, he now focuses on honoring the agent of that divine grace. This verse marks a transition in the narrative: the closure of the Ahalya episode and the beginning of Satananda’s discourse on the greatness of Vishwamitra, addressed directly to Rama as a form of welcome and instruction.

अपनी माता के उद्धार का समाचार सुनकर शतानंद जी अत्यंत प्रसन्न और कृतज्ञ होते हैं। 'महातेजा' विशेषण शतानंद के लिए प्रयोग किया गया है, जो उनकी तपस्या और ज्ञान के तेज को दर्शाता है। माता की मुक्ति का समाचार मिलते ही उनका ध्यान तुरंत उस माध्यम (श्रीराम) की ओर जाता है, जिनके कारण यह चमत्कार संभव हुआ। अब कथा का प्रवाह अहिल्या के प्रसंग से हटकर विश्वामित्र के चरित्र और श्रीराम के स्वागत की ओर मुड़ता है। यह श्लोक कृतज्ञता ज्ञापन की भूमिका है।
