एहि एहि शबले क्षिप्रम् शृणु च अपि वचो मम ।
सबलस्य अस्य राजर्षेः कर्तुम् व्यवसितो अस्मि अहम् ।
भोजनेन महा अर्हेण सत्कारम् संविधत्स्व मे ॥१-५२-२१॥
Ehi ehi śabale kṣipram śṛṇu ca api vaco mama |
Sabalasya asya rājarṣeḥ kartum vyavasito asmi aham |
Bhojanena mahā arheṇa satkāram saṃvidhatsva me ॥1-52-21॥
Translation
(Vashistha said) "Come, come, O Shabala! Come quickly and listen to my words. I have decided to honor this Royal Sage (Rajarshi) along with his army. Please arrange a magnificent feast worthy of him for my sake."
हिंदी अनुवाद
(वसिष्ठ जी बोले) "हे शबले! आओ, आओ! शीघ्रता करो और मेरी बात सुनो। मैंने सेना सहित (सबलस्य) इस राजर्षि का सत्कार करने का निश्चय किया है। तुम मेरे लिए उत्तम और महामूल्यवान भोजन की व्यवस्था करो।"
English Commentary
Note the phonetic similarity between Shabale (the name of the cow) and Sa-balasya (with force/army). Vashistha commands her affectionately (Ehi ehi - Come, come). He explains the mission: hosting the Rajarshi (Royal Sage) and his army. The phrase samvidhatsva me (arrange/orchestrate for me) indicates reliance on her divine capabilities. Vashistha treats the impossible task of feeding an army instantly as a simple administrative instruction to Shabala, highlighting the absolute confidence he has in her powers. This verse establishes Shabala as a sentient, intelligent being capable of understanding complex instructions, not just an animal.
