ददामि ते शतानि अष्टौ किन्किणीक विभूषितान् ।
हयानाम् देश जातानाम् कुल जानाम् महौजसाम् ।
सहस्रम् एकम् दश च ददामि तव सुव्रत ॥ ॥१-५३-१९॥
Dadāmi te śatāni aṣṭau kiṅkiṇīka vibhūṣitān |
Hayānām deśa jātānām kula jānām mahaujasām |
Sahasram ekam daśa ca dadāmi tava suvrata ॥1-53-19॥
Translation
O One of noble vows! I give you eight hundred horses adorned with small bells, and eleven thousand high-spirited horses of noble breed born in famous lands.

हे सुव्रत! मैं आपको आठ सौ (स्वर्ण) घंटियों से अलंकृत घोड़े और ग्यारह हजार (एक हजार और दस हजार) उच्च कुल और उत्तम देश में जन्मे महातेजस्वी घोड़े देता हूँ।
English Commentary
Vishvamitra escalates his bid by offering thousands of horses, categorizing them by their aesthetic appeal (adorned with bells) and their genetic superiority (noble breeds from famous lands). The address 'Suvrata' (one of good vows) is strategic, acknowledging Vashistha's piety while simultaneously trying to compromise it with material temptation. The sheer number—11,800 horses in total—demonstrates the desperation of the King. In ancient statecraft, elephants and horses were the pillars of military might; offering them to a hermit signifies Vishvamitra's belief that power and wealth are the ultimate currencies, even in a hermitage.
