तव प्रसादात् भवतु देवदेव मम ईप्सितम् ।
एवम् अस्तु इति देवेशो वाक्यम् उक्त्वा गतः तदा ॥ ॥१-५५-१८॥
Tava prasādāt bhavatu devadeva mama īpsitam |
Evam astu iti deveśo vākyam uktvā gataḥ tadā ॥1-55-18॥
Translation
O God of gods, through your grace, let my desire be fulfilled. Saying 'So be it,' the Lord of Gods (Shiva) spoke these words and then departed.

हे देवदेव! आपकी कृपा से मेरी मनोकामना पूर्ण हो। तब महादेव 'ऐसा ही हो' यह वचन कहकर वहां से अंतर्धान हो गए।
English Commentary
This verse marks a pivotal moment where King Vishvamitra acquires the celestial weaponry he sought to defeat Sage Vasistha. By addressing Shiva as 'Devadeva' (God of gods), Vishvamitra acknowledges the source of ultimate power. Shiva’s response, 'Evam astu' (So be it), grants the king access to divine arsenals. This moment transforms the conflict from a mere skirmish between a king and a sage into a cosmic battle involving celestial forces.
