रोम कूपेषु सर्वेषु वसिष्ठस्य महात्मनः ।
मरीच्य इव निष्पेतुः अग्नेः धूम आकुल अर्चिषः ॥ ॥१-५६-१८॥
Roma kūpeṣu sarveṣu vasiṣṭhasya mahātmanaḥ |
Marīcya iva niṣpetuḥ agneḥ dhūma ākula arciṣaḥ ॥1-56-18॥
Translation
From all the pores of the great-souled Vasistha, rays of fire accompanied by smoke issued forth.

महात्मा वसिष्ठ के शरीर के समस्त रोम-कूपों (रौंगटों) से धुएं से युक्त अग्नि की किरणें (ज्वालाएं) निकलने लगीं।
English Commentary
The imagery here is graphic and intense. The energy of the Brahmastra is so vast that it leaks from Vasistha's very pores as fire and smoke. It visually depicts the concept of Tejas (radiant energy). Vasistha is literally glowing with the heat of the absorbed weapon. This confirms that the weapon wasn't just 'magic-ed' away; it was physically taken into his being, showcasing the immense resilience of his yogic body.

वसिष्ठ अब मानव शरीर में एक जीवित ज्वालामुखी बन गए हैं। ब्रह्मास्त्र की ऊर्जा उनके रोम-रोम से फूट रही है। 'धूम आकुल अर्चिषः' (धुएं से व्याकुल लपटें) बताता है कि ताप कितना अधिक था। यह वर्णन वसिष्ठ की तपस्या की 'कैपेसिटी' (क्षमता) को दर्शाता है—कि वे फट नहीं रहे हैं, बल्कि उस ऊर्जा को रेडिएट कर रहे हैं। यह एक अलौकिक दृश्य है जहाँ एक मनुष्य का शरीर ब्रह्मांडीय ऊर्जा का संवाहक (Conductor) बन गया है।
