प्राज्वलत् ब्रह्म दण्डः च वसिष्ठस्य कर उद्यतः ।
विधूम इव काल अग्निः यम दण्ड इव अपरः ॥ ॥१-५६-१९॥
Prājvalat brahma daṇḍaḥ ca vasiṣṭhasya kara udyataḥ |
Vidhūma iva kāla agniḥ yama daṇḍa iva aparaḥ ॥1-56-19॥
Translation
The Brahmadanda raised in Vasistha's hand blazed forth, looking like the smokeless fire of time and a second staff of Yama.
हिंदी अनुवाद
वसिष्ठ के हाथ में उठाया हुआ ब्रह्मदंड प्रज्वलित हो उठा। वह धूम्ररहित कालाग्नि (प्रलय की आग) और दूसरे यमदंड के समान प्रतीत हो रहा था।
English Commentary
The staff, having consumed the nuclear-like energy of the Brahmastra, is now radiating pure destruction. It is compared to Kala-agni (apocalyptic fire). The comparison to Yama's staff recurs, emphasizing death. The tension shifts: Vasistha has won the duel, but the weapon he holds is now unstable and threatens existence. The 'smokeless' nature again implies the purity and intensity of the heat.

अब खतरा विश्वामित्र से टलकर वसिष्ठ के दंड की ओर आ गया है। ब्रह्मदंड ने ब्रह्मास्त्र को पी लिया है, इसलिए वह अब 'प्रज्वलित' (blazing) है। वह 'काल अग्नि' (Time's Fire) बन गया है। यदि वसिष्ठ ने अब इस दंड का प्रयोग प्रहार (Attack) के लिए कर दिया, तो विश्वामित्र ही नहीं, पूरी सृष्टि भस्म हो सकती है। स्थिति अत्यंत नाजुक है—विजेता का क्रोध पराजित के शस्त्र से भी अधिक खतरनाक हो सकता है।
