पिनाकम् अस्त्रम् च दयितम् शुष्क आर्द्रे अशनी तथा ।
दण्ड अस्त्रम् आय पैशाचम् क्रौन्चम् अस्त्रम् तथैव च ॥ ॥१-५६-९॥
Pinākam astram ca dayitam śuṣka ārdre aśanī tathā |
Daṇḍa astram atha paiśācam krauncam astram tathaiva ca ॥1-56-9॥
Translation
He hurled Shiva's beloved Pinaka weapon, the dry and wet Thunderbolts, the Danda weapon, the Paishacha weapon, and the Krauncha weapon.

शिवजी का प्रिय पिनाक अस्त्र, सूखी और गीली (दो प्रकार की) अशनि (बिजली), दंडास्त्र, पैशाच अस्त्र और क्रौंच अस्त्र भी चलाए।
English Commentary
The list grows more fearsome with Pinaka, Shiva’s personal weapon, emphasizing the divine favor Vishvamitra had earlier secured. The distinction between Shushka (dry) and Ardra (wet) Ashani (thunderbolts) suggests a control over different electrical or atmospheric phenomena. The Paishacha weapon invokes ghoulish, demonic forces, showing that Vishvamitra is willing to use dark arts and grotesque energies in his blind fury, further distancing himself from the Dharma he claims to uphold as a king.

'पिनाक' भगवान शिव का धनुष/अस्त्र है, जो प्रलयंकारी माना जाता है। 'अशनी' (बिजली) के दो रूप—शुष्क (सूखी) और आर्द्र (गीली)—का प्रयोग प्राचीन विज्ञान की सूक्ष्मता दर्शाता है। 'पैशाच' अस्त्र तामसिक शक्तियों का प्रतीक है, जो अत्यंत क्रूर होता है। विश्वामित्र अब सात्विक (देव), राजसिक और तामसिक (पिशाच) सभी प्रकार की शक्तियों का प्रयोग कर रहे हैं। यह एक 'टोटल वॉर' (पूर्ण युद्ध) की स्थिति है, जहाँ नैतिकता का विचार त्याग कर केवल विजय पाने का उन्माद है।
