English Commentary
Trishanku completes his account of merit by affirming that he satisfied all authorities, including his Guravaḥ (spiritual teachers), through his virtuous conduct (śīla vṛttena). This comprehensive defense of his life—covering piety, governance, and respect for teachers—leaves no room for conventional criticism of his worthiness. He presents himself as a monarch who diligently fulfilled the highest demands of Dharma, making his continued failure to attain his goal all the more inexplicable and unjust.

यह श्लोक राजा के दावे की अंतिम नैतिक पुष्टि है। वह कहता है कि उसने न केवल प्रजा और देवताओं के प्रति कर्तव्य पूरे किए, बल्कि अपने गुरुओं (वशिष्ठ को छोड़कर अन्य पूर्व गुरुओं या सम्मानित शिक्षकों) को भी अपने 'शील वृत्तेन' (उत्तम चरित्र और आचरण) से संतुष्ट रखा। यह राजा की धर्मपरायणता को एक पूर्णता प्रदान करता है। इसके बावजूद, उसे असफलता मिली। यह विफलता राजा को अगले श्लोक में 'दैव' (भाग्य) को पुरुषार्थ से ऊपर मानने के लिए प्रेरित करती है।
