Srimad Valmiki Ramayana
सर्वे ह्य् अग्नि समाः तत्र ज्वलंतः इव तेजसा ।
अब्रुवन् संप्रसन्नाः ते विश्वामित्रम् इदम् वचः ॥१-५८-१६॥
sarve hy agni samāḥ tatra jvalantaḥ iva tejasā । abruvan saṁprasannāḥ te viśvāmitram idam vacaḥ ॥1-58-16॥
Translation
All of them, who were like fire there, blazing with their brilliance, being highly pleased, spoke this word to Viśvāmitra.

वे सभी, जो वहाँ अग्नि के समान तेजस्वी थे और अपने तेज से जल रहे थे, अत्यंत प्रसन्न होकर विश्वामित्र से यह वचन बोले।
English Commentary
This verse describes the great spiritual brilliance of the assembled sages and Ritvijas. They are referred to as 'agni samāḥ' (like fire), which indicates the power of their penance and the purity of their knowledge. They were 'saṁprasannāḥ' (highly pleased), meaning they were ready and eager to perform the sacrifice under Viśvāmitra's leadership. Their pleasure was possibly due to the opportunity to participate in the fulfillment of an extraordinary resolve like Triśaṅku's, or the invitation from a greatly glorious sage like Viśvāmitra. Their high pleasure removes any apprehension of opposition and indicates that the path for the sacrifice is now cleared. Their following statement will signal the commencement of the sacrifice in the subsequent narrative.
