अब्रवीत् मधुरम् वाक्यम् विश्वामित्रम् तपो धनम् ।
जिता राजर्षि लोकाः ते तपसा कुशिक आत्मज ॥ ॥१-५८-५॥
Abravīt madhuram vākyam viśvāmitram tapo dhanam |
Jitā rājarṣi lokāḥ te tapasā kuśika ātmaja ॥1-58-5॥
Translation
...spoke sweet words to Vishwamitra, the treasure of penance: "O son of Kuśika! You have conquered the worlds of the King-Sages through your austerity."

...तपोनिधि विश्वामित्र से मधुर वाणी में कहा— "हे कुशिक पुत्र! तुमने अपनी तपस्या से राजर्षि लोक जीत लिए हैं।"
English Commentary
Brahma's words, though sweet, deliver a disappointing verdict. By declaring that Vishwamitra has won the Rājarṣi Lokāḥ (worlds of the King-Sages), Brahma formally assigns him the title of Rājarṣi. This title, while high, is not the Brahmarṣi title Vishwamitra coveted, reflecting the lingering effect of his Kshatriya birth and the non-completion of his spiritual transformation. This partial acceptance fuels Vishwamitra's famous obsession with achieving Brahmarshi status, setting the context for why he later takes up Trishanku's challenge so readily.
