तिष्ठ तिष्ठ इति तम् उक्त्वा विश्वामित्रो महाबलः ।
सृजस्व इति ततो देवान् स ऋषीन् आह स रोषवान् ॥१-५९-१९॥
tiṣṭha tiṣṭha iti tam uktvā viśvāmitro mahābalaḥ । sṛjasva iti tato devān sa ṛṣīn āha sa roṣavān ॥1-59-19॥
Translation
Saying to him, "Stop! Stop!", the greatly powerful Viśvāmitra, filled with anger, then commanded the creation of gods and sages.

"ठहर जा, ठहर जा" इस प्रकार उससे कहकर, तब क्रोध से युक्त महाबलशाली विश्वामित्र ने (अपने तपोबल से) देवताओं और ऋषियों की सृष्टि करने के लिए कहा।
English Commentary
This verse is the most extreme expression of Viśvāmitra's power. He stopped Triśaṅku in mid-air by saying 'tiṣṭha tiṣṭha' (Stop! Stop!), demonstrating his penance's control over physical laws. Following this, by commanding 'sṛjasva' (create), he ordered the creation of a new set of gods and sages in his anger. This was a direct challenge to the gods—if they would not accept Triśaṅku, Viśvāmitra would create a parallel heaven and its inhabitants. This action of Viśvāmitra, 'sa roṣavān' (filled with anger), represents an unprecedented attempt to challenge the authority of the gods using the power of his penance.
