Srimad Valmiki Ramayana
अन्यान् इन्द्रम् करिष्यामि देवतानाम् अपि प्रभुम् ।
विश्वमित्र कृतान् देवः स ऋषि सप्त गणान् अपि ॥१-५९-२०॥
anyān indraṁ kariṣyāmi devatānām api prabhum । viśvamitra kṛtān devaḥ sa ṛṣi sapta gaṇān api ॥1-59-20॥
Translation
I shall create another Indra, the lord of the gods. And (I shall create) gods made by Viśvāmitra, along with the seven groups of sages.

मैं देवताओं का प्रभु एक अन्य इन्द्र बनाऊँगा। और विश्वामित्र द्वारा निर्मित देवताओं को, ऋषियों के सात समूहों सहित (बनाऊँगा)।
English Commentary
This was Viśvāmitra's declaration, openly challenging Indra and the host of gods. He did not merely threaten to create a heaven for Triśaṅku but resolved to create 'anyān indraṁ kariṣyāmi' (another Indra, the lord of the gods) and 'viśvamitra kṛtān devaḥ' (gods made by Viśvāmitra). This was the pinnacle of his power of penance—he had the power to replace the entire system of the gods. The creation of 'sa ṛṣi sapta gaṇān api' (along with the seven groups of sages) indicates the completeness of his new, parallel universe, where his commands would be supreme. This resolve simultaneously displays Viśvāmitra's struggle to attain 'Brahmanhood' and the arrogance of his Kṣatriya nature.

यह विश्वामित्र की घोषणा थी जो इन्द्र और देवगण को खुली चुनौती देती है। उन्होंने केवल त्रिशंकु के लिए एक स्वर्ग बनाने की धमकी नहीं दी, बल्कि 'अन्यान् इन्द्रम् करिष्यामि' (मैं देवताओं का प्रभु एक अन्य इन्द्र बनाऊँगा) और 'विश्वमित्र कृतान् देवः' (विश्वामित्र द्वारा निर्मित देवताओं) की सृष्टि करने का संकल्प लिया। यह उनके तपोबल की पराकाष्ठा थी—वे देवताओं की संपूर्ण व्यवस्था को ही प्रतिस्थापित करने की शक्ति रखते थे। 'स ऋषि सप्त गणान् अपि' (ऋषियों के सात समूहों सहित) का निर्माण उनके नए, समानांतर ब्रह्माण्ड की पूर्णता को दर्शाता है, जहाँ उनके आदेश सर्वोच्च होंगे। यह संकल्प विश्वामित्र के 'ब्राह्मणत्व' प्राप्त करने के संघर्ष और उनके क्षत्रिय स्वभाव के अहंकार को एक साथ दिखाता है।
