गगने तानि अनेकानि वैश्वानर पथात् बहिः ।
नक्षत्राणि मुनि श्रेष्ठ तेषु ज्योतिःषु जाज्वलन् ॥१-६०-३१॥
Gagane tāni anekāni vaiśvānara pathāt bahiḥ |
Nakṣatrāṇi muni śreṣṭha teṣu jyotiḥṣu jājavalan ॥1-60-31॥
Translation
"(The gods said) O best of the sages! Let those many constellations in the sky, though outside the path of Vaishwānara (the traditional zodiac), brilliantly shine among those celestial bodies."

"(देवताओं ने कहा) हे मुनिश्रेष्ठ! आकाश में वे अनेक नक्षत्र, वैश्वानर (पारंपरिक राशिचक्र) के मार्ग से बाहर होते हुए भी, उन ज्योतियों में तेजस्वी रूप से चमकते रहें।"
English Commentary
This verse secures the unique status and permanence of the new constellations created by Vishwamitra. The gods explicitly conceded that these stars would be 'outside the path of Vaishwānara' (the traditional celestial track) yet possess divine radiance and existence. This was an unprecedented acceptance, bypassing the normal rules of the cosmic order. The term 'jājavalan' (brilliantly shining) ensures that their luster will be no less than that of the conventional stars. This demonstrates the power of creation achieved through tapas, which established a parallel galaxy in the heavens.
