एतस्मिन् एव काले तु अयोध्या अधिपतिः महान् ।
अंबरीष इति ख्यातो यष्टुम् समुपचक्रमे ॥१-६१-५॥
Etasmin eva kāle tu ayodhyā adhipatiḥ mahān |
Ambarīṣa iti khyāto yaṣṭum samupacakrame ॥1-61-5॥
Translation
"At that very time, a great king who was the ruler of Ayodhyā, famous by the name of Ambarīṣa, began to perform a sacrifice."

"उसी समय अयोध्या के एक महान राजा, जो अंबरीष के नाम से विख्यात थे, ने एक यज्ञ करना आरम्भ किया।"
English Commentary
This verse shifts the narrative away from Vishwamitra's hermitage to Ayodhyā. The phrase 'etasmin eva kāle tu' (at that very time) indicates that another significant event was unfolding parallel to Vishwamitra's penance. King Ambarīṣa, a righteous and famous ruler of Ayodhyā, began to perform a Yajña (sacrifice). The commencement of the sacrifice was a religious and auspicious act, typically performed to ensure prosperity and peace in the kingdom. This new episode sets the stage for subsequent events where an unexpected obstacle once again arises in the path of Vishwamitra's tapas.
