कोकिलो हृदय ग्राही माधवे रुचिर द्रुमे ।
अहम् कंदर्प सहितः स्थास्यामि तव पार्श्वतः ॥१-६४-६॥
kokilo hṛdaya grāhī mādhave rucira drume |
aham kandarpa sahitaḥ sthāsyāmi tava pārśvataḥ ॥1-64-6॥
Translation
"In the spring season, assuming the form of a heart-captivating cuckoo perched on a beautiful tree, I shall stay by your side along with Kandarpa (God of Love)."
हिंदी अनुवाद
"बसंत ऋतु (माधव) में सुंदर वृक्ष पर बैठकर, मैं कामदेव (कंदर्प) के साथ हृदय को मोहने वाला कोयल बन जाऊंगा और तुम्हारे पास ही रहूंगा।"
English Commentary
Indra outlines a multi-pronged strategy involving environmental manipulation. He sets the scene in spring (Madhava), the season of romance. He himself will assist by becoming a melodious cuckoo to stimulate the sense of hearing, while Kandarpa (Cupid) will attack the mind. He reassures Rambha that she will not be alone, attempting to bolster her confidence. The plan targets the sage's senses systematically: sight (Rambha) and sound (Indra/Cuckoo).

इंद्र अपनी योजना समझाते हैं। वे अकेले रंभा को नहीं भेज रहे, बल्कि स्वयं 'कोयल' के रूप में और 'कामदेव' को साथ लेकर वातावरण निर्माण करेंगे। 'माधवे' (बसंत) का उल्लेख महत्त्वपूर्ण है क्योंकि यह ऋतु काम-भावना को उद्दीप्त करती है। इंद्र का कोयल बनना और कूजना श्रवण-इन्द्रिय को मोहित करने के लिए है, जबकि रंभा नेत्रों को मोहित करेगी। यह ऋषि के संयम पर चौतरफा आक्रमण है।
