तावत् प्रसादो भगवान् अग्नि रूपो महाद्युतिः ।
काल अग्निना यथा पूर्वम् त्रैलोक्यम् दह्यते अखिलम् ॥ ॥१-६५-१७॥
Tāvat prasādo bhagavān agni rūpo mahādyutiḥ |
Kāla agninā yathā pūrvam trailokyam dahyate akhilam ॥1-65-17॥
Translation
"Therefore, let the Lord (Vishvamitra), who is of great brilliance and resembles fire, be propitiated. Otherwise, he will burn the entire three worlds just as the Fire of Time (Doomsday Fire) does."

"अतः उस महातेजस्वी, अग्नि स्वरूप भगवान (विश्वामित्र) को प्रसन्न करें, अन्यथा वे कालाग्नि (प्रलय की अग्नि) की तरह पहले की भांति संपूर्ण त्रिलोक को जला देंगे।"
English Commentary
The plea concludes with a dire warning and a solution: Propitiate him immediately. Vishvamitra is compared to Kalagni—the fire that consumes the universe at the end of a cosmic cycle. The gods refer to him as "Bhagavan" (Lord), acknowledging his divine status. They recognize that the only way to save the "Akhilam Trailokyam" (entire three worlds) is to give Vishvamitra what he wants—the title of Brahmarshi. The balance of power has completely shifted from the heavens to the ascetic on earth.

अंतिम श्लोक में देवता समाधान बताते हैं—"प्रसादो" (उन्हें प्रसन्न करें)। वे विश्वामित्र को अब एक साधारण ऋषि नहीं, बल्कि "भगवान" और "कालाग्नि" (प्रलयंकारी अग्नि) के रूप में देख रहे हैं। "यथा पूर्वम्" (जैसे पहले) का संदर्भ संभवतः पिछले कल्पों के प्रलय या विश्वामित्र के पिछले क्रोध के क्षणों की ओर है। ब्रह्मा जी के हस्तक्षेप के बिना, विश्वामित्र का तप सृजन को राख कर देगा। यहाँ देवताओं का अहंकार पूर्णतः समाप्त हो गया है और वे ऋषि की महानता के आगे नतमस्तक हैं।
