Srimad Valmiki Ramayana
देव राज्यम् चिकीर्षेत दीयताम् अस्य यत् मतम् ।
ततः सुर गणाः सर्वे पितामह पुरोगमाः ॥ ॥१-६५-१८॥
Deva rājyam cikīrṣeta dīyatām asya yat matam । Tataḥ sura gaṇāḥ sarve pitāmaha purogamāḥ ॥ ॥1-65-18॥
Translation
(The gods pleaded to Brahma), "He desires the realm of the gods (divine status); let that which is desired by him be granted." Thereafter, all the hosts of gods, with Grandparent Brahma at their head, approached Vishvamitra.
हिंदी अनुवाद
(देवताओं ने ब्रह्माजी से कहा) यह विश्वामित्र देवत्व (देवताओं का राज्य/पद) चाहते हैं, अतः इन्हें वह प्रदान कीजिए जो इनका अभीष्ट है। तत्पश्चात ब्रह्माजी को आगे करके सभी देवतागण विश्वामित्र के पास गए।
English Commentary
This verse highlights the climax of Vishvamitra’s penance. His spiritual heat (tapas) had become so intense that the gods felt compelled to ask Brahma to grant his wish to maintain cosmic balance. The phrase "Deva Rajyam" implies a desire for divine status or sovereignty over one's own senses and destiny, akin to the gods. It signifies that when a seeker's determination is absolute, the divine forces (the gods) led by the Creator (Brahma) eventually arrive to fulfill their aspirations. It marks the transition from struggle to fruition.

यह श्लोक तपस्या के चरम प्रभाव को दर्शाता है। विश्वामित्र के तप का ताप इतना तीव्र हो गया था कि देवताओं को स्वयं ब्रह्माजी से हस्तक्षेप करने का अनुरोध करना पड़ा। यहाँ "देव राज्यम्" का अर्थ केवल स्वर्ग का सिंहासन नहीं, बल्कि दिव्य स्थिति और ऋतंभरा प्रज्ञा का अधिकार है। देवता यह समझ गए थे कि विश्वामित्र अब उपेक्षा करने योग्य नहीं हैं। जब एक साधक की निष्ठा अटल होती है, तो सम्पूर्ण ब्रह्मांड की शक्तियाँ उसे फल प्रदान करने के लिए विवश और तत्पर हो जाती हैं। ब्रह्माजी का स्वयं आगे होकर आना विश्वामित्र की साधना की सफलता का प्रमाण है।
