कृत्वा प्रणामम् मुदितो व्याजहार महामुनिः ।
ब्राह्मण्यम् यदि मे प्राप्तम् दीर्घम् आयुः तथैव च ॥ ॥१-६५-२२॥
Kṛtvā praṇāmam mudito vyājahāra mahāmuniḥ । Brāhmaṇyam yadi me prāptam dīrgham āyuḥ tathaiva ca ॥ ॥1-65-22॥
Translation
...The great sage Vishvamitra, rejoicing, bowed down and spoke: "If indeed I have attained Brahman-hood and longevity..."

...महामुनि विश्वामित्र ने प्रसन्न होकर प्रणाम किया और कहा— "यदि मैंने ब्राह्मणत्व और दीर्घ आयु प्राप्त कर ली है..."
English Commentary
Vishvamitra receives the boon with humility, bowing down happily. The phrasing "If indeed I have attained..." is not an expression of doubt in Brahma's words, but a preface to a specific request he is about to make. It shows that for Vishvamitra, the title alone is not enough; the functional reality of that title must be verified. He remains a perfectionist, ensuring that his spiritual status is complete in every technical and social aspect before he accepts it fully.

विश्वामित्र की विनम्रता यहाँ दर्शनीय है। वरदान मिलने के बाद अहंकार करने के बजाय वे प्रणाम करते हैं। "यदि" शब्द का प्रयोग संदेह नहीं, बल्कि एक शर्त या अंतिम पुष्टि की प्रस्तावना है। वे जानते हैं कि ब्रह्माजी का वरदान अंतिम है, फिर भी उनके मन में एक अंतिम कसौटी शेष है। वे चाहते हैं कि उनकी उपलब्धि पूर्ण और निर्विवाद हो। यह श्लोक एक साधक की उस मनोदशा को दिखाता है जो आधी-अधूरी सफलता से संतुष्ट नहीं होता।
