ततः प्रसादितो देवैः वसिष्ठो जपताम् वरः ।
सख्यम् चकार ब्रह्मर्षिः एवम् अस्तु इति च अब्रवीत् ॥ ॥१-६५-२५॥
Tataḥ prasādito devaiḥ vasiṣṭho japatām varaḥ । Sakhyam cakāra brahmarṣiḥ evam astu iti ca abravīt ॥ ॥1-65-25॥
Translation
Then, propitiated by the gods, Vashistha, the best among those who chant prayers, made friendship with the Brahmarishi (Vishvamitra) and said, "So be it."

तब देवताओं के द्वारा मनाए जाने पर, जप करने वालों में श्रेष्ठ वशिष्ठ जी ने विश्वामित्र के साथ मित्रता स्थापित की और कहा— "ऐसा ही हो।"
English Commentary
Vashistha, urged by the gods, accepts the situation gracefully. Being the "best among chanters," he has the insight to see that Vishvamitra has truly changed. The phrase "made friendship" (sakhyam cakāra) is profound—it signifies the end of a legendary feud that caused immense destruction. Vashistha's acceptance ("So be it") serves as the final seal of approval. It illustrates that true spiritual height involves the capacity to forgive and embrace a former rival who has proven their worth.

देवताओं के अनुरोध पर वशिष्ठ ने विश्वामित्र की तपस्या की सत्यता को स्वीकार किया। "सख्यम् चकार" (मित्रता की) एक अत्यंत सुंदर वाक्यांश है। युगों का संघर्ष एक क्षण में समाप्त हो गया। वशिष्ठ, जो "जपताम् वरः" (तपस्वियों में श्रेष्ठ) हैं, जानते थे कि विश्वामित्र अब क्रोध से मुक्त हो चुके हैं। उनका "एवम् अस्तु" कहना विश्वामित्र की अंतिम परीक्षा की सफलता थी। यह क्षमा और प्रेम की विजय का क्षण है।
