Srimad Valmiki Ramayana
कृत कामो महीम् सर्वाम् चचार तपसि स्थितः ।
एवम् तु अनेन ब्राह्मण्यम् प्राप्तम् राम महात्मना ॥ ॥१-६५-२८॥
Kṛta kāmo mahīm sarvām cacāra tapasi sthitaḥ । Evam tu anena brāhmaṇyam prāptam rāma mahātmanā ॥ ॥1-65-28॥
Translation
Having fulfilled his desire, he roamed the entire earth, steadfast in penance. Thus, O Rama, was Brahman-hood attained by this great soul.

अपनी कामना पूर्ण होने पर वे तपस्या में स्थित होकर सारी पृथ्वी पर विचरण करने लगे। हे राम! इस प्रकार उन महात्मा (विश्वामित्र) ने ब्राह्मणत्व प्राप्त किया।
English Commentary
Shatananda concludes the narrative of Vishvamitra's past. Vishvamitra became "Krita-kama" (one whose desires are fulfilled), yet he continued to roam the earth anchored in asceticism. He did not retire; he became a wandering force of dharma. The address to Rama serves as a reminder: this story serves as an educational example for the young prince. It demonstrates that greatness is not just inherited but earned through relentless persistence and self-transformation.

यहाँ शतानन्द जी (जो यह कथा राम को सुना रहे हैं) अपनी वाणी को विराम देते हैं। विश्वामित्र 'कृत काम' (पूर्णकाम) हो गए, यानी उनकी कोई इच्छा शेष नहीं रही। फिर भी, वे निष्क्रिय नहीं बैठे, बल्कि 'तपसि स्थितः' (तप में स्थित) होकर लोक कल्याण के लिए पृथ्वी पर विचरण करते रहे। "एवम्" (इस प्रकार) शब्द उस लंबी, कष्टसाध्य यात्रा का सारांश है जिसका वर्णन पिछले कई सर्गों में किया गया। यह कथा राम को प्रेरित करने के लिए सुनाई गई थी कि संकल्प शक्ति से असंभव को भी संभव किया जा सकता है।
