ददुः च परम प्रीताः चतुरंग बलम् सुराः ।
ततो भग्ना नृपतयो हन्यमाना दिशो ययुः ॥ ॥१-६६-२४॥
Daduḥ ca parama prītāḥ caturaṅga balam surāḥ |
Tato bhagnā nṛpatayo hanyamānā diśo yayuḥ ॥1-66-24॥
Translation
Highly pleased, the gods gave me a four-fold army. Then, being struck and broken, those kings fled in all directions.
हिंदी अनुवाद
तब देवताओं ने परम प्रसन्न होकर मुझे 'चतुरंगिणी सेना' प्रदान की। (उस सेना द्वारा) पीटे जाने पर वे (दुष्ट) राजा हताश होकर (भाग खड़े हुए) और विभिन्न दिशाओं में चले गए।
English Commentary
Divine intervention followed Janaka's penance. The gods, pleased (parama pritah), gifted him a Chaturanga Balam (a complete four-limbed army consisting of elephants, chariots, cavalry, and infantry). This divine reinforcement turned the tide. The aggressor kings were routed (bhagna) and, being struck down (hanyamana), they fled in panic. This victory vindicated Janaka's stance and protected the sanctity of the vow. It emphasizes that the Shiva Dhanush and Sita remained secured not just by walls, but by divine sanction.

जनक की तपस्या सफल रही। देवताओं ने उन्हें 'चतुरंग बल' (हाथी, घोड़ा, रथ और पैदल सेना) प्रदान किया। यह कोई साधारण सेना नहीं, बल्कि दैवीय शक्ति से युक्त सेना रही होगी। परिणाम यह हुआ कि जो राजा एक साल से मिथिला को घेरे हुए थे, वे 'भग्ना' (टूट गए/हार गए) और 'हन्यमाना' (मार खाते हुए) दिशाहीन होकर भाग गए। धर्म की विजय हुई। यह प्रसंग बताता है कि सीता की रक्षा के लिए देवता भी तत्पर थे और जनक का संकल्प कितना शक्तिशाली था।
