Srimad Valmiki Ramayana
महर्षेः वचनात् रामो यत्र तिष्ठति तत् धनुः ।
मंजूषाम् ताम् अपावृत्य दृष्ट्वा धनुः अथ अब्रवीत् ॥ ॥१-६७-१३॥
Maharṣeḥ vacanāt rāmo yatra tiṣṭhati tat dhanuḥ । Mañjūṣām tām apāvṛtya dṛṣṭvā dhanuḥ atha abravīt ॥ ॥1-67-13॥
Translation
Upon the great sage's command, Rama opened the box where the bow lay. After looking at the bow, he spoke.
हिंदी अनुवाद
महर्षि की आज्ञा पाकर, श्रीराम ने उस पेटी (मंजूषा) को खोला जहाँ वह धनुष रखा था, और उसे देखकर वे बोले।
English Commentary
This verse captures Rama’s prompt obedience and quiet confidence. As soon as the command is given, he approaches the massive iron casket (manjusha) containing Shiva's bow. The act of opening the case signifies the unveiling of destiny. While others trembled at the sight of the weapon, Rama gazed at it steadily. This inspection is not out of curiosity but is a warrior's assessment of the weapon he is about to wield. The verse sets a stage of high anticipation; the audience holds its breath as the young prince stands face-to-face with the artifact that has defeated kings and demons alike.
हिंदी टीका
यहाँ श्रीराम की तत्परता और आत्मविश्वास दर्शनीय है। महर्षि का आदेश मिलते ही वे तुरंत उस स्थान पर गए जहाँ शिवजी का विशाल धनुष एक मंजूषा (लोहे की पेटी) में रखा हुआ था। 'मंजूषा' का उल्लेख यह दर्शाता है कि वह धनुष कितना सुरक्षित और भारी-भरकम था, जिसे आठ पहियों वाली गाड़ी पर लाया गया था। श्रीराम ने उसे खोला और उसका निरीक्षण किया। यह क्षण शांत है, जैसे तूफान से पहले की शांति। श्रीराम का धनुष को देखना ही उनके संकल्प को दर्शाता है। उन्होंने बिना किसी भय या संकोच के धनुष का सामना किया।
