इदम् धनुर्वरम् ब्रह्मन् संस्पृशामि इह पाणिना ।
यत्नवान् च भविष्यामि तोलने पूरणे अपि वा ॥ ॥१-६७-१४॥
Idam dhanurvaram brahman saṃspṛśāmi iha pāṇinā । Yatnavān ca bhaviṣyāmi tolane pūraṇe api vā ॥ ॥1-67-14॥
Translation
"O Brahman! I touch this excellent bow with my hand. I shall now attempt to lift it and string it."

"हे ब्रह्मन्! मैं इस श्रेष्ठ धनुष को हाथ से छू रहा हूँ। अब मैं इसे उठाने और इस पर प्रत्यंचा चढ़ाने का भी प्रयत्न करूँगा।"
English Commentary
Rama’s humility shines through his words here. Despite his divinity, he does not boast of breaking the bow. Instead, he respectfully addresses the sage and states he will "attempt" (yatnavan) to lift and string it. This reflects his grounded nature; he treats the task with the seriousness it deserves. By saying he touches it with his hand, he is establishing a physical connection with the divine weapon, seeking blessing before the feat. He clarifies his intent to not just lift it, but to string it fully, signaling to the assembly that he accepts the challenge in its entirety.
