Srimad Valmiki Ramayana
पश्यताम् नृ सहस्राणाम् बहूनाम् रघुनंदनः ।
आरोपयत् स धर्मात्मा स लीलम् इव तत् धनुः ॥ ॥१-६७-१६॥
Paśyatām nṛ sahasrāṇām bahūnām raghunandanaḥ । Āropayat sa dharmātmā sa līlam iva tat dhanuḥ ॥ ॥1-67-16॥
Translation
While many thousands of men looked on, the righteous scion of Raghu (Rama) strung that bow as easily as if it were a plaything.

हजारों लोगों के देखते-ही-देखते, रघुकुल को आनंद देने वाले धर्मात्मा श्रीराम ने उस धनुष पर अनायास ही (खेल की तरह) प्रत्यंचा चढ़ा दी।
English Commentary
The use of the epithet Dharmatma (righteous soul) is significant; it suggests that Rama’s strength is rooted in righteousness, not just muscle. The feat is performed in full view of "thousands of men," ensuring there are ample witnesses to this historic event. The term Raghunandana (delight of the Raghu clan) emphasizes that this act brings glory to his lineage. The repetition of the ease of the action (sa lilam iva) reinforces the idea that for the Supreme Being, lifting the heavy burden of the earth (symbolized by the bow) is merely a divine play.
