तस्य शब्दो महान् आसीत् निर्घात सम निःस्वनः ।
भूमि कंपः च सुमहान् पर्वतस्य इव दीर्यतः ॥ ॥१-६७-१८॥
Tasya śabdo mahān āsīt nirghāta sama niḥsvanaḥ । Bhūmi kaṃpaḥ ca sumahān parvatasya iva dīryataḥ ॥ ॥1-67-18॥
Translation
The sound of that breakage was tremendous, resembling the crash of a thunderbolt. There was a great earthquake, as if a mountain were being rent apart.

धनुष टूटने का शब्द वज्रपात के समान अत्यंत भयंकर था। उस समय धरती ऐसे कांप उठी जैसे कोई विशाल पर्वत फट रहा हो।
English Commentary
Valmiki uses powerful auditory imagery here. The snapping of the cosmic bow produced a sound akin to a nirghata (a thunderbolt or meteor crash). It wasn't a quiet victory; it was an earth-shattering event. The comparison to an earthquake and a splitting mountain emphasizes the supernatural weight and importance of the bow.
