जनकानाम् कुले कीर्तिम् आहरिष्यति मे सुता ।
सीता भर्तारम् आसाद्य रामम् दशरथ आत्मजम् ॥ ॥१-६७-२२॥
Janakānām kule kīrtim āhariṣyati me sutā । Sītā bhartāram āsādya rāmam daśaratha ātmajam ॥ ॥1-67-22॥
Translation
"My daughter Sita, having obtained Rama, the son of Dasharatha, as her husband, will bring glory to the lineage of the Janakas."

"मेरी पुत्री सीता, दशरथकुमार श्रीराम को पति रूप में प्राप्त करके जनक वंश की कीर्ति का विस्तार करेगी।"
English Commentary
Janaka shifts his focus from the feat of strength to the impending union. He proclaims that Sita will bring glory (kirtim) to his entire lineage by marrying Rama. This reflects the ancient understanding that a noble marriage elevates the status of the bride's family. Janaka realizes that Rama is no ordinary prince; thus, being associated with the Raghu clan through Sita is a monumental honor for the Janaka dynasty. It highlights the father’s joy not just in fulfilling a vow, but in securing a glorious future for his daughter and his kingdom.
हिंदी टीका
यहाँ राजा जनक का वात्सल्य और दूरदर्शिता दिखाई देती है। वे कहते हैं कि इस विवाह से केवल सीता का जीवन ही नहीं संवरेगा, बल्कि 'जनकानाम् कुले' (जनकों के कुल में) कीर्ति भी बढ़ेगी। प्राचीन भारत में विवाह दो कुलों का मिलन होता था। जनक समझ गए हैं कि श्रीराम जैसे महापुरुष के साथ संबंध जुड़ने से विदेह राज्य का गौरव इतिहास में अमर हो जाएगा। वे सीता को इस गौरव का माध्यम मानते हैं। यह श्लोक पिता के गर्व को दर्शाता है कि उसकी पुत्री को त्रैलोक्य का सबसे श्रेष्ठ वर मिला है।
