Srimad Valmiki Ramayana
जनकेन समादिष्ठाः सचिवाः प्राविशन् पुरम् ।
तत् धनुः पुरतः कृत्वा निर्जग्मुः अमित औजसः ॥ ॥१-६७-३॥
Janakena samādiṣṭhāḥ sacivāḥ prāviśan puram |
Tat dhanuḥ purataḥ kṛtvā nirjagmuḥ amita aujasaḥ ॥1-67-3॥
Translation
Commanded by Janaka, the ministers entered the city (palace interior). Placing that bow in front, they came out; they (who carried it) were of immeasurable strength.
हिंदी अनुवाद
जनक द्वारा आदेश पाकर मंत्री नगर (अंतःपुर/शस्त्रागार) में गए और उस धनुष को आगे करके (सावधानीपूर्वक) बाहर निकले। वे (मंत्री या सेवक) अमित ओज वाले (बलवान) थे।
English Commentary
The ministers execute the command, entering the inner sanctum to retrieve the weapon. The verse describes those involved as amita aujasah (of immeasurable energy/strength). This prepares the reader for the upcoming description of the bow's weight. Even retrieving it requires immense effort and power. They brought the bow out keeping it puratah (in front), signifying reverence—the object takes precedence over the bearers.
हिंदी टीका
मंत्रियों ने राजाज्ञा का पालन किया। वे महल के उस सुरक्षित स्थान पर गए जहाँ धनुष रखा था। 'अमित औजसः' (अमित ओज/बल वाले) शब्द उन सेवकों या मंत्रियों के लिए प्रयुक्त हुआ है जो उस भारी धनुष को लाने की व्यवस्था कर रहे थे। साधारण मनुष्य उस धनुष को हिला भी नहीं सकता था, इसलिए उसे लाने के लिए विशेष रूप से बलवान लोगों और व्यवस्था की आवश्यकता थी। 'पुरतः कृत्वा' का अर्थ है कि वे धनुष को सम्मानपूर्वक आगे रखकर स्वयं उसके पीछे-पीछे आ रहे थे।
