प्रतिज्ञाम् मम राजेन्द्र निर्वर्तयितुम् अर्हसि ।
पुत्रयोः उभयोः एव प्रीतिम् त्वम् अपि लप्स्यसे ॥ ॥१-६८-१२॥
Pratijñām mama rājendra nirvartayitum arhasi । Putrayoḥ ubhayoḥ eva prītim tvam api lapsyase ॥ ॥1-68-12॥
Translation
"O King of Kings! You ought to enable me to fulfill my vow. In doing so, you will also obtain the joy of seeing both your sons."
हिंदी अनुवाद
"हे राजेन्द्र! आप यहाँ आकर मेरी प्रतिज्ञा पूरी कराएं। ऐसा करने से आप भी अपने दोनों पुत्रों से मिलन का सुख (प्रीति) प्राप्त करेंगे।"
English Commentary
Janaka positions the journey as mutually beneficial. He asks Dasharatha to help him discharge his solemn vow (pratijyam... nirvartayitum), framing it as a favor the superior King grants the inferior one. In return, Dasharatha gets pritim (joy/pleasure) from uniting with both his sons. The mention of 'both sons' emphasizes that Lakshmana is also part of this glorious moment. It is a persuasive conclusion to the message: 'Come for my honor, stay for your joy.'

जनक यहाँ 'विन-विन' स्थिति (दोनों पक्षों का लाभ) प्रस्तुत कर रहे हैं। दशरथ के आने से जनक की प्रतिज्ञा 'निर्वर्तयितुम्' (पूरी/सफल) होगी, और बदले में दशरथ को 'पुत्रयोः उभयोः' (दोनों पुत्रों) का सुख मिलेगा। यहाँ 'उभयोः' (दोनों) शब्द पर जोर है, जो शायद भविष्य में लक्ष्मण के विवाह का भी सूक्ष्म संकेत हो सकता है, लेकिन मुख्य रूप से यह दशरथ को आश्वस्त करने के लिए है कि दोनों भाई सुरक्षित और साथ हैं। जनक दशरथ को 'राजेन्द्र' (राजाओं में इन्द्र) कहकर सम्मानित करते हैं, जो उनकी उच्च स्थिति को दर्शाता है।
