Srimad Valmiki Ramayana
दूत वाक्यम् तु तत् श्रुत्वा राजा परम हर्षितः ।
वसिष्ठम् वामदेवम् च मंत्रिणः च एवम् अब्रवीत् ॥ ॥१-६८-१४॥
Dūta vākyam tu tat śrutvā rājā parama harṣitaḥ । Vasiṣṭham vāmadevam ca maṃtriṇaḥ ca evam abravīt ॥ ॥1-68-14॥
Translation
Hearing the words of the messengers, the King became supremely delighted. He spoke thus to Vashistha, Vamadeva, and his ministers.

दूतों के उस वचन को सुनकर राजा दशरथ परम हर्षित हुए। उन्होंने वशिष्ठ, वामदेव और अन्य मंत्रियों से इस प्रकार कहा।
English Commentary
Dasharatha’s reaction is one of unbridled joy (parama harshita). The anxiety of separation is replaced by the pride of his son's achievement. However, true to his role as a constitutional monarch, he immediately consults his cabinet and spiritual advisors. He addresses Vashistha and Vamadeva—the pillars of the Ayodhya court. This indicates that the marriage proposal is treated as a matter of state, not just a family affair. The immediate convening of the council shows Dasharatha's readiness to act.

संदेश का प्रभाव तत्काल और सकारात्मक हुआ। दशरथ, जो राम के वियोग में उदास थे, अब 'परम हर्षितः' (अत्यंत प्रसन्न) हो गए। आनंद के इस अतिरेक में भी उन्होंने राजधर्म नहीं छोड़ा। उन्होंने तुरंत अपने कुलगुरु वशिष्ठ, और अन्य प्रमुख सलाहकार वामदेव व मंत्रियों को बुलाया। राजा कोई भी निर्णय, चाहे वह कितना भी व्यक्तिगत या खुशी का क्यों न हो, मंत्रिमंडल और गुरुओं की सलाह के बिना नहीं लेते। यह रघुकुल की शासन प्रणाली की मजबूती को दर्शाता है।
